You can keep as many programs open as you have the RAM for, and you can switch between them at will. Then you don't have to wait for the programs to load before using them. These instructions are for Windows 98.
Instructions
1.Open more than one program, either by choosing the programs from the Start menu or by double-clicking the program icons.
2.Turn your attention to the Windows taskbar. Icons for all open windows appear on the taskbar.
3.Click an icon to switch to that window.
